Halloween has arrived

Spread the love

Good Morning all my friends,

The week is over and it has been as busy as always.

I do not normally share what I am doing but the last two weeks I have been running around going to interviews as I am planning to stop teaching and do something that I have wanted to do for a long time. I am looking into becoming an advocate for those that need help and in the spring hopefully will be doing a course in Domestic Violence Advocacy so it has been crazy here and Layla has been stuck at home more than normal.

So over the weekend we spent quality time together in the park as the weather was perfect and we are trying to take advantage of it before the winter arrives. I made no plans so that it would be just her and me and it was awesome as I am feeling guilty LOL.

When October arrives Halloween parties at pet stores pop up everywhere but this year I chose to do one only.

There is a great pet store here in the city, Pawtrero that every month has a Yappy hour on the third Wednesday of the month in their dog park and yesterday was Halloween themed so I packed Layla in her back pack, took her on the tram which she loves, and off we went. It was a really great event and Ray, the owner is just amazing always organizing fun events, gives back to the community and helps the rescues. They will be having another great event next month which I love to go to every year and really looking forward to it.  Thanks Ray as always for the fun and wonderful photo you took of Layla, plus Layla woofs thanks Uncle for the goody bag I came home with.

Yesterday was really hot so I kept Layla inside although in the late evening we went to the park and just sat chatting with friends which is a great way to end the week.

This weekend is busy, Layla has her Shih Tzu meet up which will be fun and after we going to meet a good friend of mine who owns and runs this amazing sanctuary  near Yosemite.

DREAMS, a final resting place for Disabled R Senior Animals. A home sanctuary in the hills of the central valley of Cali, for senior animals in need

On Sunday I have not yet made plans LOL.

What are your plan for Halloween? Any dog Halloween parties? We would love to hear from you.

So now Madam is going to bed, dreaming of treats LOL,

Have a wonderful weekend and HAPPY HALLOWEEN Woof

With love and woofs

From Layla

  1. All those dogs in costumes are so cute! Happy early Halloween. We’re not doing anything special for it. I didn’t even get my dogs costumes this year. We live out in the middle of nowhere now, so I doubt we’ll have any trick or treaters and we aren’t attending any Halloween parties. Good luck with your new career path! Doing something like that I’m sure you could really do some good and help a lot of people. That’s awesome 🙂

  2. Nice Post! Good luck on your new Career change adventures. Looks like you and Layla really got into the Halloween Costume spirit and festive parties. I enjoyed the really cute pictures of all of the doggies in their adorable costumes. (Ava Jaine, Dachshund Station)

  3. You look so cute in your costume Layla! Good for you to change careers into something you feel strongly about. Our Halloween was today with trick-or-treaters on Sunday afternoon. Buffy got lots of barking in and guarding the yard, even though she couldn’t see the strange costumes (she’s blind). But there was lots of noise and people walking by – very exciting. Now she is zonked in her bed.

    • Thank you and yes am looking forward to the change. I am sure Buffy is exhausted from guarding the house and like her, Layla is zonked also at this moment

  4. Oh my CAT those costumes!!! Do people really dress up dogs like that. In England that kind of thing just doesn’t float many boats. That said if a dog is carefully dressed like Layla or our friend and colleague Coco the Couture cat it can look totally fantastic.

I hope you enjoy the Halloween season with LOTS of treats!

    • Thanks Marjorie and I love the costumes as some people put so much effort into them. The hat that Layla was wearing is made by a woman that makes them for cats also 🙂 We are going to have fun this Halloween 🙂

    • Thank you Melissa and yes our schedules are jam packed LOL that is why sometimes I just lie low and walk Layla only but it is healthy and keeps me on my toes LOL

  5. I haven’t decided what we are doing for Meowloween here – probably nothing. I did find Plush’s bathing harness wrap but I don’t know of any events to bring him too.

Congrats on getting started as a DV advocate- you will be great at it. Have a great week

  6. Congratulations on the career change – follow your heart and your passion! And sweet little Layla looked like she had a ball at her outings. We decided to stay in over Halloween and meet the little kids that knocked at our door – it was fun, and we even made some doggy treats for the pups that came by with their humans!
