Keeping your young dog healthy (my recipes)

Spread the love

TGIF ! Friday has arrived, it is hot outside and today we going to discuss what I am doing to keep Nili healthy from a young age so as she grows older she stays healthy and hopefully slim as well as I am still struggling with her weight.

I might be chunky but my bandanna fits me, Happy Pride Everyone, Nili

As most of you know I do not believe in kibbles but with the rising prices of produce I unfortunately am feeding her once a day a 1/3 of a cup of kibble but the rest of the day she gets home cooked food and treats, plus of course supplements.

So, I decided to share her what she is eating, my food/treat recipes to help you find solutions and to avoid mass produced food and treats where possible. It is working out to be cheaper this way and I am blessed she is a small dog, so it is easier, plus I cook in bulk and freeze in portions.

I am an affiliate for some of these products so if you decide to try them we would appreciate you using our coupons which would help pay my bills.

Supplements

Nili might be young but I firmly believe that the younger we start with supplements the healthier she will be when older, so this is what I give her:

Nili gets the Real Mushrooms Daily Dawg, Mobility, Relax,  and Immune Supplements. They are all healthy, no chemicals phew so I have no worries plus she gobbles the chews down with no problem and all Organic

You can find them all on this Link :  https://shop.realmushrooms.com/?ref=488

You have 10% off with the coupon LaylasWoof

And finally I must not forget to mention the Yomp Ball, which I love as it cleans her teeth while trying to get the treats out, it keeps her busy, which is good for the brain and she cleans it out each time. It is also hardy and does not break that easy and Nili being a hard chewer this has been a game changer.

You can find it on this link, Yomp Products

    • Anne Nili woofs that she is very lucky to have healthy meals and she says that you should start cooking for your cats too so they do not have to want to be dogs LOL

  1. Great ideas! I love Nili’s Yomp ball. I know the mushroom supplements have helped Henry. I’m just now switching over to the mushroom mobility supplements. Real mushrooms seem to have great products. I think Nili’s daily walks, play, and snuggles also help to keep her healthy. Henry says so at least. 😉

    • Thank you Terri and am so happy Henry is starting the mobility chews, they are fantastic although like you I agree Real Mushrooms products are fantastic for us also. Tell Henry is is so smart to know that the daily walks, play time and snuggles are keeping her healthy cos she is sure they are doing the same for him. Cookie for Henry from Nili

  2. Thank you for the links! I’m a believer in the mushrooms. When Sandy had cancer, the surgeon was unable to remove all of it due to its location. Her oncologist recommended turkey tails to help fight off the remaining cancer. It was the only additional treatment besides the surgery.

It worked! She’s been cancer free for 6 years now. They said if it didn’t return after 6 months we could consider it cured, but I’m afraid to stop so all the dogs get turkey tails every day. My reasoning is its harmless if it doesn’t work, and if it does work is a cancer shield. Why not?

    • Andrea I am so happy the Turkey Tail worked and she is cancer free, wow that is fantastic. I agree with you these are organic no chemical supplements so they are safe to give to all our pets to keep them healthy. You have made my day with you sharing about Sandy.

  3. Mushrooms are a coming thing aren’t they? Taking them seriously is a must with so much evidence from so many pet owners. I know you have had faith in it for a long time now.

    • Marjorie I do believe in them an am looking for healthy non chemical supplements all the time for both me and Nili, the healthier we are the less vet visits for her.

  4. I can’t wait for the veggies in our garden to start producing because I use a lot of it for doggy treats. Carrots, lettuce, zucchini, etc. We have too many dogs and not enough time right now to make everyone’s food so we do what we can with the treat portions 🙂 Sounds like Nili eats better than me currently! LOL

    • Andrea that is great you have a veggie garden, it is my dream and maybe one day. I cook and freeze the food in portions so I only do it once a week. It is great you are giving veggies as treats as it is so healthy for them. Nili eats better than me too LOL but that is what Dog Moms do

  5. Those are some yummy homemade treat recipes! Miss Nili is a lucky girl! I wonder what is her favorite? All of them! My FiveSibes loved, loved, loved anything salmon, so I’m sure those would have been a hit!

    • Dorothy she loves all of them but the salmon is extra special as I stuff her Yomp Ball with it and it keeps her busy. Your Sibes would have loved them also and they are so healthy for them too.
