The fireworks are coming keep us safe please.

We a week before our pets nightmare, the fireworks. The 4^th of July is a fun day for families but they forget their pets suffer terribly during the night and we need to make sure they are safe. I hate fireworks as I worry about the wildlife also BUT most of all I feel it is a waste of money and in todays economy especially we should be donating the money to rescues and so many other nonprofit organizations.

So many pets get lost on 4^th of July thanks to stupid owners who do not care for their pets by keeping them safe.

How to keep pet safe on 4th of July :

Never leave alcoholic drinks unattended where pets can reach them – these can be poison and make us very sick, death can also be possible

Do not apply any sunscreen or insect repellent product to your pet that is not labeled specifically for use on animals, this can also poison us.

Always keep matches and lighter fluid out of your pets’ reach – these can also make us sick

Keep your pets on their normal diet. This is important as a change of diet with all the stress from fireworks etc can cause indigestion and diarrhea

Never use fireworks around pets – these can cause severe burns, trauma to the face plus they contain toxic materials.

Loud, crowded fireworks displays are no fun for pets – leave your pets at home in a safe quiet spot, why traumatize them in this situation which is just being selfish and uncaring.

Be prepared in the event that your pet does escape – make sure your pet is wearing a collar with an updated tag, microchip is updated and BEST of all just keep your pet inside in a safe place where it cannot escape.

My daily routine and friends

Good Morning Friends,

I owe you an apology for being late this week but Mom has been crazy busy and when she does sit down I decide I want to go out, so we are constantly on the move although Mom keeps telling me she is getting old and cannot do it all the time, I still win BOL.

Mom builds her errands around my park time so that I get to see my friends so today I want to introduce you formally to my playmates in the park whom I love to have fun with, as Mom tells me running and playing is good for my figure.

Every morning after breakfast and Moms’ coffee Mom sits down to do whatever is needed till about 11 and then we pack up and go to the park. There we meet up one of my favorite Uncles and his dog Boy Boy. Boy Boy is a wanderer in the park, he loves walking around smelling and rolling in the mud. I always join him and get stinky. Uncle has the best treats, beef jerky yum and I munch till Mean Mom says no more. At the same time another Uncle arrives and I get one from him also. So as Mom says that is my lunch and no more food till dinner.

At about 4 in the afternoon, we go fetch Nigel, and go back to the park. This is also my favorite time as all my friends arrive. Caro who plays with me and we chase each other and tackle. Mocha who loves to run and keeps me running also, and then to end the day Booisey, Paymon and I howl to tell everyone it is time to go home, we sometimes have others join in but it is a great way to end the day.

I then go home tired and hungry, Mom gives me my dinner, and I relax and let Mom eat her dinner. I go for my last walk at about 9 in the evening, Mom cleans my teeth and tells me to go to bed, which I have learnt to do.

So friends that is a day in my neighborhood, like my sister Layla but the only difference is I have new friends she never met unfortunately.

June is National Pet Preparedness Month

TGIF !!!!!!!

The days are going too fast and I cannot keep up anymore and wonder if everyone feels the same way.

June is National Pet Preparedness Month, a reminder of what to do in case of an emergency or natural disaster. It is also National Microchipping Month and they both are important and connect with each other.

Have you got an emergency plan for your pets? I do and update it whenever necessary.

Nili is prepared for everything as she has BOL a Jewish Mom that worries all the time especially as lately there have been a few tremors. Rather be safe than sorry.

I have a close friend who will take Nili if something happens to me as I would not want Nili to land up in a shelter. It is something that everyone should make sure is always in order

Is your Microchip updated? Please check so that they are safe. Nili became a stray because she was not microchipped when she ran from her home but I made sure she has one so I do not have to worry. She is also registered at our Animal Control with all her details if something happens.

Hi friends,

Nili went on her first sleepover at a friend of mines house, I was a little concerned but Paul is amazing and a fantastic Dog Father so I knew she would be safe and spoiled. She was very good, got lots of long walks, played in his house with the toys and of course loved her food which thank goodness she eats. Paul made me laugh as he was impressed on how much fruit and veggies she eats, and him being a vegan we decided she could become om too.

Last Monday I joined a group from the LAASN and off we went. They had organized everything for us. It was at the retreat called

The place is spotless, the food excellent, the staff friendly and helpful and it was the best thing I have done in years and cannot wait for the next one, I really need to go into nature more. For me it was paradise and I did not want to go home.
