The fireworks are coming keep us safe please.

Spread the love

We a week before our pets nightmare, the fireworks. The 4th of July is a fun day for families but they forget their pets suffer terribly during the night and we need to make sure they are safe. I hate fireworks as I worry about the wildlife also BUT most of all I feel it is a waste of money and in todays economy especially we should be donating the money to rescues and so many other nonprofit organizations.

So many pets get lost on 4th of July thanks to stupid owners who do not care for their pets by keeping them safe.

How to keep pet safe on 4th of July :

Never leave alcoholic drinks unattended where pets can reach them – these can be poison and make us very sick, death can also be possible

Do not apply any sunscreen or insect repellent product to your pet that is not labeled specifically for use on animals, this can also poison us.

Always keep matches and lighter fluid out of your pets’ reach – these can also make us sick

Keep your pets on their normal diet.  This is important as a change of diet with all the stress from fireworks etc can cause indigestion and diarrhea

Never use fireworks around pets – these can cause severe burns, trauma to the face plus they contain toxic materials.

I used to keep Layla calm and now Nili by giving them Real Mushrooms Relax which is a must have as it is natural mix of mushrooms no chemicals.

Loud, crowded fireworks displays are no fun for pets – leave your pets at home in a safe quiet spot, why traumatize them in this situation which is just being selfish and uncaring.

Be prepared in the event that your pet does escape – make sure your pet is wearing a collar with an updated tag, microchip is updated and BEST of all just keep your pet inside in a safe place where it cannot escape.

Please be safe and have a Happy 4th of July and please please do not drink and drive

I have not been sponsored by Real Mushrooms but sharing what I feel is really helpful for your pets.

  1. Excellent advice! Our current cat sleeps through it all, but we’ve had cats get traumatized in the past. Mostly they hide, so no escapees, but it’s not outside the realm of possibility.

  2. We have fireworks here around the start of November. There are appeals to the Government to ban them, so we have hopes. Cats and Dogs are very much at risk at this time of year in the US some die and some run away. Please folks stop with the bangs eh??

  3. Super info for keeping your pup safe with fireworks. I’m shocked at how well the Real Mushroom Relax chews work. Henry will be getting one on July 4th. Honestly, I’m still waiting for drone shows to completely replace fireworks. They’re better for all animals (pets and wildlife) and people who suffer from PTSD. Besides, the drones are more environmentally friendly, the show can be changed each year, it’s fairly quiet, and really, they’re super cool. Until then, though, we all must take the necessary measures to keep our pups and furry friends safe. Henry says Nili needs a cookie.

    • Terri thank you and I am so happy the Relax chews help Henry. I am praying also that they will ban fireworks so we can all live peacefully during the holiday with no worries about our pets of the wildlife. Lots of cookies for Henry from Nili with love xxx

  4. So many of us pet mama’s dread this holiday! My Husky Icy was terrified of fireworks! We always had to do some prep the day of in order to help her stay calm and Safe. Phoebe, on the other hand, was fearless! Nothing scared her. Now we have Jessie and she’s a wreck when fireworks or thunder are around. Ugh. These are helpful tips.

    • Cathy it is so so sad to see the fear in our pets from the fireworks and I wish they would be banned. You were lucky with Phoebe but poor Jesse, it breaks my heart. I hope theu tips helped you and please be safe
