June is around the corner

Spread the love

Happy Wednesday Fur Friends,

Can you believe May is nearly over ! This year is going too fast for me, what do you think ? But the good news is June is here and that means summer holidays have arrived and although Mom is working, she will have more time to do some adventures with me.

The past week was a bit of a mess with me being sick but am back to normal whatever normal is as Mom says. One of the things Mom found that really helped me was the Chicken Broth, she just cooked the chicken in the slow cooker with a teaspoon of Apple Cider Vinegar and then when cooling added some veggies. It is yummy and I have asked Mom to make more which she promised me she would.

Over the weekend we did have some fun, Mom went on Sunday with me to a small little park not far from our house but what Mom loves about it is it secluded and very quiet, so she took coffee, sat on a bench relaxing and I wandered around smelling the flowers and everything else.

It was a great way to start the day as when we walked home Mom was really calm which I love. On Monday we decided to stay in our area and spent time in our regular park but went early and spent about 3 hours there, hanging out with friends and their fur babies. It was really great to have that quality time with Mom again and no electronics.

Sunday Siesta

The only issue I have with Mom and park visits is the damn camera, I wish she would slow down a bit but she feels the memories are important so have stopped arguing with her.

What are your plans for the summer ? Let’s hear some as maybe by you sharing Mom will get some interesting ideas BOL.

I am off now to have my afternoon snooze as it is hot outside and cool here inside, it is a good life in the Layla Neighborhood.

Have a wonderful week
With a woof with love from
Layla

  1. I’m sorry you weren’t feeling well but glad that your mom’s chicken broth helped you to feel better. It sounds like you both had a nice time during your park visits. I think my cats would understand about your camera woes, but I agree with your mom. 🙂 Happy June!

  2. Sorry to hear you weren’t feeling well last week Layla, glad to hear the chicken soup worked. It always does!! Jack was on a bit of an adventure today. Rather than his usual run around the wilderness I took him with me to check out laptops. He loves the bus so it was buses and ferries today, and they even let him in the store. It was a change from his usual routine and he loved it. He may be visiting Toronto with me this summer for 2 or 3 months. He definitely will not like the plane ride…he never does!

    • Thanks so much Hindy. His adventure sounded like lots of fun, Layla loves going on the bus so I take her whenever possible, it is the highlight of her week LOL. A plane ride am not sure of either for Layla so understand him but it sounds like you going to have a great time in Toronto.

    • LOLA thank you for the compliment and I am so blessed to have Layla in my life, she makes me smile, laugh and do adventures

  3. I am so glad you are feeling better. Apple cider vinegar is wonderful stuff and your broth sounds yummy! I hope your mom makes tons more for you! Small parks are very nice.
    Stay well Layla!

    • I so agree Apple Cider is amazing and I use it to clean the house also. I will be doing more of it. Yes small parks are actually perfect as they quiet and Layla is more active

    • You are so right, having that secret spot is a wonderful way of starting the day. Yup I am so relieved she is feeling better, it makes me feel the same

    • It is heaven for me and I love going there although I do not do it often enough plus Layla loves it there as she can wander around quietly

  4. I’m sorry you weren’t feeling well, Layla, but I’m glad you’re doing better. It sounds like you both had a relaxing day visiting a beautiful garden! I’m sure you’re looking forward to spending more time with Mom this Summer. We are looking forward to the beach and hiking! I’m planning some trips for us, so it should be fun.

    • I love that little garden and am also looking forward to the summer and just being out. I would love to go hiking etc but not having a car limits me so am going to make a list of the different dog parks we have not done and go to those – there are so many in San Francisco plus of course the beach.Cannot wait to see your blogs and pics of your adventures, love from Layla

  5. I’m happy that you are feeling better! You gave your mom such a scare, I hope you stay healthy. It seems like you had a lovely long weekend. Just pose nicely and maybe she’ll put the camera down sooner!

    • Beth I say the same to her but as she sees the camera the wiggle come out LOL, thanks for your advice 🙂

  6. I’m so sorry to hear that you’ve been ill. So glad the home cooked chicken helped. We think our mom has too many cameras around our home

We do want to say how much easier it is to navigate and leave comments on your new webpage!

    • Thank you for your compliment about the blog, I agree with you it is so much easier. I always laugh that being Jewish there is nothing like chicken broth when you are sick LOL. As for cameras Layla wants to know how to hide them LOL

  7. We normally dread the end of May and beginning of June because of the black flies. Last year it was horrid. This year we haven’t been doing too terribly so we’re thankful for that.
