When Mom gets an idea – Oy Vey

Spread the love

Happy Wednesday all,

August is the month we are celebrating our 3rd year of Layla blogging, I cannot believe it and it seems like yesterday that we wrote the first one, chuckling as I remember doing it, then deleting it by accident and having to re write the whole blog. I learnt a good lesson from that one.

So what is happening here in the Layla Neighborhood is like this.

Mom is on a mission and I think I am going into hiding. Yup that is what is happening here at the moment.

As you know I told you last week how I am slowly changing Layla’s diet so I have been doing a lot of research plus seeing what is happening in the city by visiting the different pet stores as I would love to be able to support the locals.

Last week we went on adventure to Bernal Beasts, a great store, full of fantastic goodies of all kind. The reason we went there is Mom wanted to get some Goats Milk to try with me as she has read that it is really healthy. The people there are so warm and friendly and in a nutshell a great vibe. They also have a groomer but please do not give Mom any ideas as you know how much I hate them.

To read all about them you can visit their website :

We spent the weekend in the dog park when the sun came out as it has been really foggy and dreary in San Francisco. It was fun to hang out with our friends, eat lots of treats and just relax, chat and play.

So as you can see never a dull moment here and as I say when Mom gets a bee in her bonnet oy vey it is time to really hibernate but on the other hand she is Jewish and making sure I stay really healthy.

So that is what has been happening in the Layla Neighborhood, it is a happy one with lots of adventures, park time and of course cuddle and play time.

I am now doing what I always do and that is go to my box for my afternoon siesta,

Have a great day, with woof and love from Layla

  1. * Grins * Grooming did I hear the word grooming?!?!?!?! Hide Layla HIDE!!!!

OK seriously, those people sounds interesting. Places like that are likely to provide you with more solid advice that really matters.

As for walks and parks * sigh * I wish its just too cold here!!!! Have a great week-end and

    HAPPY THIRD BLOGOVERSARY!!!

    • Thanks Marjorie, I cannot believe it is 3 years LOL. This pet store is one of the nicest in the city and the people are so friendly. As for bathing shhhhhhh

  2. Three years of blogging! Wow, that’s a lot 🙂 I started my newest blog 6 months ago but it seems to me like it was more than a year. Time flies when you’re having fun, I guess 🙂

  3. Enjoy your siesta Layla, and I hope you know how lucky you are to have such a great Mom!! What is it about goat’s milk that’s supposed to be so healthy? We’re off to Toronto for a couple of months, and that means finding new food for Jack because his brand is not available there and I can’t bring it with me. Don’t even get me started on how we’re going to find a park for him, since there’s nothing in walking distance and that’s what we’re used to!! Have a lovely weekend you two.

    • Hindy I will be writing about Goats milk soon but it is really good for them. As for changing Jack’s food I suggest you slowly do it now with home cooking as such so that it will be easier when you get to Toronto. Cannot wait to hear about your move. Have a wonderful weekend

    • Michelle I am introducing it slowly and till now no problems with it. I love being outdoors with no electronics just her LOL. Have a wonderful weekend

  4. Our Female Human often gets those “bees” in her bonnet and it often does not bode well for us! When my brother Oliver and I were being fostered by our Humans, they fed us organic, unpasteurized goat milk and we loved it.

  5. Congrats on three years of blogging!

I remember when I changed my dog’s diet. Thankfully she has a pretty hardy gut so I didn’t have much trouble in that area. I asked my vet for opinions on food and that what very helpful.

  6. Congrats on 3 years blogging! That’s awesome. My boys always enjoy trying new foods, for the most part. My youngest dog, Fen, can actually be quite picky sometimes. I hope you enjoyed spending time out. It’s been very very hot where we live, so we haven’t been able to spend as much time outside lately.

  7. We’re getting a dog park soon! So I don’t have to be jealous of Layla’s trip there anymore. *s* No reason to hibernate when adventures are in the offing, BOL!

  8. I hadn’t heard goats milk was good for dogs. But when ever I travel I do seek out new pet stores (even if I find a lot of the same stuff in each). It’s like my new shoe shopping…

    • It is very good for dogs and LOL I love checking out pet stores it is fun to see what is going. As for shoe shopping that is one of my favorite past times

  9. Congrats to 3 years of blogging! 🙂 Checking out new pet stores is always a fun adventure. Looking forward to seeing how well the Goat’s Milk goes over. I never heard of giving it to dogs before, so that’s a new idea for me. Enjoy your weekend!

    • Thank you Kristy I am also learning every day what is new and good for dogs and will try things with Layla if I really think it is worth it. Have a wonderful weekend

  10. I gotta say fog has it’s uses but only as a disguise when I’m mousing. Other than that it is very dreary and we love that moment when the sun finally breaks through and a new day is born. Thankfully I don’t have to go to a groomer…. maybe you could just say you’re a cat and don’t need to go? Anyways I won’t mention it so hopefully it will pass by….

  11. We tried goat’s milk when we changed Ruby’s diet. I know it is supposed to help with the transition from one food to another. She didn’t mind it and it definitely helped with the transition.

  12. Layla, that sounds like a wonderful day! And a new diet could be really tasty! Enjoy your weekend and some peaceful snoozes in between those great adventures! Thanks, too, for joining in our Flashback Friday blog hop! Always love having you be part of it! 🙂

    • Thank you for your Flashback Friday Blog Hop, we are planning to relax today and tomorrow not sure, have a great weekend too

  13. Happy blogoversary.
I love to see your pictures, Layla is very photogenic.
I look forward to hear about how she likes the goats’ milk. My cats love it!

  14. Moms are like that Layla, you are their Sun, Moon & Stars and a great mom always wants the best for you. You mean so much to her, that’s why she’s always looking for the healthiest stuff for you! You’re one lucky dog!

    • Beautifully put Cathy, thank you and it is so true, Layla depends on me to stay healthy and I have to figure it out 🙂

    • I have done a lot of reading about the goats milk and really like what I have read. The sun was out today and we had a wonderful day

    • Thanks Bernard and so true, everyone is different so it is researching to find the perfect balance and am learning a lot from it

  15. I think it’s good to do your research and change your dog’s diet once in a while. Things in the pet food industry are changing so much. I changed Buffy’s diet a few months ago and she is doing well on it. I envy your cool, foggy weather. It’s been really hot in Chicago this past weekend.

  16. Hey Layla! Happy to hear you are eating healthier and also taking time to relax. I know I could improve in that department. Go get your beauty rest and have a great week.
