Happy Wednesday all,
August is the month we are celebrating our 3rd year of Layla blogging, I cannot believe it and it seems like yesterday that we wrote the first one, chuckling as I remember doing it, then deleting it by accident and having to re write the whole blog. I learnt a good lesson from that one.
So what is happening here in the Layla Neighborhood is like this.
Mom is on a mission and I think I am going into hiding. Yup that is what is happening here at the moment.
As you know I told you last week how I am slowly changing Layla’s diet so I have been doing a lot of research plus seeing what is happening in the city by visiting the different pet stores as I would love to be able to support the locals.
Last week we went on adventure to Bernal Beasts, a great store, full of fantastic goodies of all kind. The reason we went there is Mom wanted to get some Goats Milk to try with me as she has read that it is really healthy. The people there are so warm and friendly and in a nutshell a great vibe. They also have a groomer but please do not give Mom any ideas as you know how much I hate them.
To read all about them you can visit their website :
We spent the weekend in the dog park when the sun came out as it has been really foggy and dreary in San Francisco. It was fun to hang out with our friends, eat lots of treats and just relax, chat and play.
So as you can see never a dull moment here and as I say when Mom gets a bee in her bonnet oy vey it is time to really hibernate but on the other hand she is Jewish and making sure I stay really healthy.
So that is what has been happening in the Layla Neighborhood, it is a happy one with lots of adventures, park time and of course cuddle and play time.
I am now doing what I always do and that is go to my box for my afternoon siesta,
Have a great day, with woof and love from Layla
Sounds like a good day, especially since you avoided the dreaded bath! You will have to share more about your changing diet! Happy Friday!
Hi Jen and am going to be sharing as I figure it all out. Happy Friday !
* Grins * Grooming did I hear the word grooming?!?!?!?! Hide Layla HIDE!!!!
OK seriously, those people sounds interesting. Places like that are likely to provide you with more solid advice that really matters.
As for walks and parks * sigh * I wish its just too cold here!!!! Have a great week-end and
HAPPY THIRD BLOGOVERSARY!!!
Thanks Marjorie, I cannot believe it is 3 years LOL. This pet store is one of the nicest in the city and the people are so friendly. As for bathing shhhhhhh
Three years of blogging! Wow, that’s a lot
I started my newest blog 6 months ago but it seems to me like it was more than a year. Time flies when you’re having fun, I guess
Monika I cannot believe it is 3 years also and I love blogging, writing and sharing Layla’s life
Enjoy your siesta Layla, and I hope you know how lucky you are to have such a great Mom!! What is it about goat’s milk that’s supposed to be so healthy? We’re off to Toronto for a couple of months, and that means finding new food for Jack because his brand is not available there and I can’t bring it with me. Don’t even get me started on how we’re going to find a park for him, since there’s nothing in walking distance and that’s what we’re used to!! Have a lovely weekend you two.
Hindy I will be writing about Goats milk soon but it is really good for them. As for changing Jack’s food I suggest you slowly do it now with home cooking as such so that it will be easier when you get to Toronto. Cannot wait to hear about your move. Have a wonderful weekend
Did you like the goats milk Layla? We love being out with our hoomans and enjoying time outside in the park, hope you have a fab weekend!
Michelle I am introducing it slowly and till now no problems with it. I love being outdoors with no electronics just her LOL. Have a wonderful weekend
Our Female Human often gets those “bees” in her bonnet and it often does not bode well for us! When my brother Oliver and I were being fostered by our Humans, they fed us organic, unpasteurized goat milk and we loved it.
That is great to know as I am hoping it will work on her also
Congrats on three years of blogging!
I remember when I changed my dog’s diet. Thankfully she has a pretty hardy gut so I didn’t have much trouble in that area. I asked my vet for opinions on food and that what very helpful.
Thanks for your input and am going to do the same next week
Congrats on 3 years blogging! That’s awesome. My boys always enjoy trying new foods, for the most part. My youngest dog, Fen, can actually be quite picky sometimes. I hope you enjoyed spending time out. It’s been very very hot where we live, so we haven’t been able to spend as much time outside lately.
Stay cool Michelle and I know I cannot believe 3 years have passed.
We’re getting a dog park soon! So I don’t have to be jealous of Layla’s trip there anymore. *s* No reason to hibernate when adventures are in the offing, BOL!
Woof cannot wait Amy, that is awesome and you will love going there
Congratulations on 3 years of blogging! I know you’ll do a lot of research and Layla will continue to thrive with her new diet.
Thanks for your vote of confidence as sometimes I think we all need it
I hadn’t heard goats milk was good for dogs. But when ever I travel I do seek out new pet stores (even if I find a lot of the same stuff in each). It’s like my new shoe shopping…
It is very good for dogs and LOL I love checking out pet stores it is fun to see what is going. As for shoe shopping that is one of my favorite past times
Congrats to 3 years of blogging!
Checking out new pet stores is always a fun adventure. Looking forward to seeing how well the Goat’s Milk goes over. I never heard of giving it to dogs before, so that’s a new idea for me. Enjoy your weekend!
Thank you Kristy I am also learning every day what is new and good for dogs and will try things with Layla if I really think it is worth it. Have a wonderful weekend
I gotta say fog has it’s uses but only as a disguise when I’m mousing. Other than that it is very dreary and we love that moment when the sun finally breaks through and a new day is born. Thankfully I don’t have to go to a groomer…. maybe you could just say you’re a cat and don’t need to go? Anyways I won’t mention it so hopefully it will pass by….
Toodle pips and purrs
ERin
LOL I actually love the fog sometimes and for Layla it is better as she does not get all hot, have a great weekend
We tried goat’s milk when we changed Ruby’s diet. I know it is supposed to help with the transition from one food to another. She didn’t mind it and it definitely helped with the transition.
Thanks Kristin for your input, I love hearing from others as it makes it easier for me
It sounds like you have had a great time! I love checking out small pet shops. Congrats on three years blogging! We had our three year mark last month.
Thanks Katie and it is fun checking out the pet stores and an adventure for Layla
Layla, that sounds like a wonderful day! And a new diet could be really tasty! Enjoy your weekend and some peaceful snoozes in between those great adventures! Thanks, too, for joining in our Flashback Friday blog hop! Always love having you be part of it!
Thank you for your Flashback Friday Blog Hop, we are planning to relax today and tomorrow not sure, have a great weekend too
PS – And big congrats on your 3rd Blogiversary!!! I should have led off with that!
LOL thank you
Happy blogoversary.
I love to see your pictures, Layla is very photogenic.
I look forward to hear about how she likes the goats’ milk. My cats love it!
Thank you and am happy to hear your cats love it – am starting with a little to see how she reacts
Moms are like that Layla, you are their Sun, Moon & Stars and a great mom always wants the best for you. You mean so much to her, that’s why she’s always looking for the healthiest stuff for you! You’re one lucky dog!
Love & Biscuits,
Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them
Beautifully put Cathy, thank you and it is so true, Layla depends on me to stay healthy and I have to figure it out
I hope you like the goats’ milk. I was just talking to a brand rep about it. Enjoy the sun while it lasts!
I have done a lot of reading about the goats milk and really like what I have read. The sun was out today and we had a wonderful day
Changing food is never fun. Is Layla doing okay? Truffle is slowly getting used to her prescription food.
Layla is doing great and am doing it slowly. It will take time till I find the perfect balance
As a pet nutrition geek, I LOVE it when people make it a mission to learn more and make better choices for their pet and their lifestyle! Nutrition is NOT “one-size-fits-all”! Kudos!
Thanks Bernard and so true, everyone is different so it is researching to find the perfect balance and am learning a lot from it
Moms on a mission can be a scary thing! You’re wise to say out of the way LOL
LOL Jana she agrees with you
Congrats on 3 years of blogging! What an accomplishment! I love reading your adventures!
Thanks Maureen and it has been a great journey
I think it’s good to do your research and change your dog’s diet once in a while. Things in the pet food industry are changing so much. I changed Buffy’s diet a few months ago and she is doing well on it. I envy your cool, foggy weather. It’s been really hot in Chicago this past weekend.
Sandy stay cool and I am hoping the change will be the better for her
Hey Layla! Happy to hear you are eating healthier and also taking time to relax. I know I could improve in that department. Go get your beauty rest and have a great week.
Hi Kamira and thanks, we are relaxing and healthy eating is a healthy pup, have a great week
