Nili speaking out

Spread the love

Hello to all my friends,

Today, Friday is a special day for Mom, it is her birthday as I am speaking for my sister Layla also wishing Mom a very happy Birthday, I am so blessed to have been adopted by her and spending her special day with her as my sister is over the Rainbow Bridge makes it even more special.

I have always rescued a pet and that is why this day, Remember Me Thursday is so dear to me.

What is this day?

Remember Me Thursday is on the last Thursday of September every year when we speak out for the orphan pets in shelters wanting homes, they are innocent and in many ways, we are to blame.

This is me in the shelter that Mom saw and quickly adopted me, Nili

This is a day when we all get together campaigning for them as no innocent orphaned pet should have to die in a Shelter because someone dumped them there.

As Mike Arms, President and CEO of Helen Woodward Animal Center says : We all come from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds, but together, we can raise our voices and share one life-saving message and literally save millions of pets on this one day.”

You can read more about it on their website :

https://remembermethursday.org/about/

How can we shine a light on:

  1. Attend a Remember Me Thursday event near you. –
  2. You can find the events near you on Google or on the website above.Hold a pet food plus other pet related items fundraiser for your local shelter.
  3. Check to see if one of your shelters in your area are having an adoption event.
  4. Speak out, encourage friends and family to adopt and open their homes to an orphan pet.
  5. There are so many ways we can all help, so let’s take one step forward today to do it.

I would like to take this opportunity to wish all our friends a Happy, Sweet, Healthy New Year as our New Year 5785 starts in the evening of the 2nd of October and our prayers are that the New Year will bring homes to all the orphaned pets. I will share with you next week all the yummy food Mom has told me about, I cannot wait.

With love and woofs from Nili

  1. First of all, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! I hope you’re enjoying your day with Nilli and hopefully some friends too. This year Remember Me Thursday is even more important – here on the East coast hurricane Helene is devastating much of Florida and cities all the way up the coast to Virginia. It’s taking a terrible toll on people, but also on pets. Already, so many pets have been made homeless due to the storm. Many families actually surrendered their pets Before the hurricane even arrived! Everyone has their own circumstances and difficulties but I could never do that. Where I go my pets go. Period! Shelters near me in the non impacted parts of Florida have stepped up to help shelters in severely impacted areas who can no longer safely house their current pets. It’s the saddest thing ) – :

    • Cathy thank you so much for your kind wishes. Remember Me Thursday is such an important day especially with the hurricanes and the shelters overcrowded with homeless animals the impact of the hurricane has only worsened it and that people did not take their pets with them whatever the circumstances in my eyes shows another side to them that I do not like, I am praying all the animals will be safe and take care of as it is so so sad 🙁 Please be safe

  2. Happy Birthday, Ruth! Nili is so sweet and adorable! I’m glad you have each other. Great ideas to help with Remember Me Thursday. It’s really important to bring attention to these innocent souls. Happy New Year! I hope you both have a fun and relaxing week.

    • Hi Terri, thank you so much for your Birthday Wishes. I am so blessed to have her in my life and she is a bundle of joy. I agree with you Remember Me Thursday is such an important day in the year as we must not forget those innocent pets stuck in shelters looking for home. My week is going to be quiet and relaxing and thanks for the New Year wishes.

  3. Happy Birthday Mom!!!

As you know I have supported Remember Me Thursday for ever and ever and love your ideas for making an impact. We can and should do this all year too!!

  4. Happy Birthday to your wonderful momma! I hope you both had a wonderful day together and here’s to a fantastic Birthday year! xo

#RememberMeThursday is so important! We, too, did a post about it. I hope one day there will be no need to remind everyone to adopt because hopefully one day there will no longer be any homeless pets. Wouldn’t that be wonderful?

    Hugs to Nili!

  5. Hope you had a great birthday together! Looking forward to the day where the shelters are empty and all pets have great homes!
