Remember Me Thursday

Remember Me Thursday is a day to honor all pets who never found a loving home, I am one of the blessed Dog Moms to have found one (rescued from the Carlson Shelter).

It is a day when the world will share and discuss the importance of pet adoption, and shine a light on all orphan pets waiting in shelters and rescues. We all come from different countries, religions but one thing we all have in common is the fate of the pets in shelters so we need to be their voice.

One of the important ways of spreading the word around about Remember Me Thursday is to draw the attention to those wanting a pet and stop them from buying but instead adopting from a local shelter or rescue organization.

I do not believe in buying a pet, will not do and will fight against the Puppy Mills and other Breeders till all the shelters are empty and all the pets have homes. I have watched over the years how pet owners speak about rescuing but go out and buy for themselves a pure bred dog when they could be going to a pure bred rescue organization to adopt from instead. I thank goodness live in a city where pet stores are not allowed to sell pets but if I know of one, that one would not get my money.

How to get involved with this special day :

01. Find an event near you – there are events being held in California – Helen Woodward Animal Center in San Diego – their event is being held online this year via Zoom.

02. Hold a pet food donation event

03. Educate children about rescue and not buying from a breeder. (I as a teacher have taught all my pupils about rescue and taken some to rescue events)

04. And for me the most important one is to share all over social media to bring awareness to everyone.

05. Be the voice for the orphaned pets

So Layla is calling on everyone to adopt a pet, give them a home, so that they will be one of the lucky ones sleeping in a bed tonight and not in cold shelter with all the noise and stress around them.

We want to say a special thanks to Mike Arms, President and CEO of Helen Woodward Animal Center, for creating this day to draw the attention of the orphaned pets sitting in shelters and by lighting a candle will draw people to their fate of euthanasia.

So let us shine the light on all the orphan pets in all the shelters and rescues all over the world and help them find a home.

Thank you with a woof and love from
Layla

Those orphan pets in the shelters need homes, want a warm bed to sleep in, good food, toys but most of all they want to be loved by humans so every time one is adopted you are saving a life.

We can help by spreading the word, changing the minds of people to open their hearts also.

  1. Adopt and open your house to an orphan pets
  2. Donate to a rescue that is saving the pets from the shelter, we are helping one rescue who saves the seniors and disabled dogs that have been dumped in the shelters, they go and live at a Sanctuary in the foothills of California where they will live the rest of their lives with love, warmth, food and comfort.  We are helping this Sanctuary this week financially by asking everyone to donate a couple of dollars which is used for vet bills, food and whatever is needed for these dogs. The name of the Sanctuary is Dreams Disabled R Elderly Animal Mountain Sanctuary
  3. You can donate by sending your donation via  PayPal : d.dreamsanctuary@yahoo.com

PLUS I think the most important of all is to show everyone all over the world that adoption is the only way to go.

We want to say a special thanks to Mike Arms, President and CEO of Helen Woodward Animal Center, for creating this day to draw the attention of the orphaned pets sitting in shelters and by lighting a candle will draw people to their fate of euthanasia.

So let’s all get together and save the shelter pets and give them the good life they deserve,

Thank you with love from

Remember Me Thursday

Good Morning friends,

Today is a very important day so without hesitation we decided that our blog should be up today and not tomorrow as it is Remember Me Thursday.

I have always rescued, and only believe in rescuing and that is why this day is extra special for me.

On this day the world will share and discuss the importance of pet adoption, and shine a light on all orphan pets waiting in shelters and rescues to be adopted . We all come from different countries, religions but one thing we all have in common is the fate of the pets in shelters so we need to be their voice as they do not have one.

Those orphan pets in the shelters need homes, they want a warm bed to sleep in, good food, toys but most of all they want to be loved by humans so every time one is adopted you are saving two lives, the pet and yours.

We can help by spreading the word, changing the minds of people to open their hearts also :

01. Adopt and open your house to an orphan pet

02. Go to Remember Me Thursday Events in your area

PLUS I think the most important of all is to show everyone all over the world that adoption is the only way to go as the adopted/rescued pets deserve a second chance.

We want to say a special thanks to Mike Arms, President and CEO of Helen Woodward Animal Center, for creating this day to draw the attention of the orphaned pets sitting in shelters and by lighting a candle will draw people to their fate of euthanasia.  Thank you Helen Woodward Animal Center for permitting me to share this poem by Mike Arms.

Thank you for allowing me to share this poem

So let’s all get together, light a candle and save the shelter pets and give them the good life they deserve,

Thank you with love from

Layla   (my rescue from a shelter)

#RememberMeThursday

Hello to all my friends,

I know we normally blog on Fridays but because today is a very important day we are talking today to bring attention to #RememberMeThursday.

I have always rescued and that is why this day is so dear to me.

What is this day ?

Remember Me Thursday is on the last Thursday of September every year when we speak out for the orphan pets in shelters wanting homes,  they are innocent and in many ways we are to blame.

This is a day when we all get together campaigning for them as no innocent orphaned pet should have to die in a Shelter because someone dumped them there.

It is now in its 7th year and as Mike Arms, President and CEO of Helen Woodward Animal Center says : We all come from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds, but together, we can raise our voices and share one life-saving message and literally save millions of pets on this one day.”

You can read more about it on this website https://remembermethursday.org/

How can we shine a light on this :
01. Attend a Remember Me Thursday event near you. – You can find the events near you on Google or on the website above.
02. Hold a pet food plus other pet related items fundraiser for your local shelter.
03. Check to see if one of your shelters in your area are having an adoption event.
04. Speak out, encourage friends and family to adopt and open their homes to an orphan pet.
05. There are so many ways we can all help, so lets take one step forward today to do it.

On this note we would also like to wish all our fur friends and family a Shana Tova, Happy New Year as our New Year starts in the evening of Sunday the 29th. May it be filled with sweetness and health.

But most of all may the New Year bring homes to all the orphaned pets.

With a woof and love from Layla

Remember Me Thursday

Wednesday and we are woofing. Mom has the day off from work so I decided to discuss Remember Me Thursday as it is tomorrow and a very important day.

d. Victor Valley Animal Protective League in Victorville

02. Hold a pet food donation event
