Woof good morning, Winter has arrived or should I say the rain grrr which means less time in the park especially as daylight savings are not helping either as it gets darker earlier. That means less playtime for me, so Mom is trying to figure out how to keep me quiet and busy during the day.
Layla used to sleep most of the day or chew on bones but hated the rain so we hardly went out but Nili is like an energizer bunny wanting to go nonstop, oy vey.
You see friends, I bark at Mom for attention when she starts working and that makes her mad as she loves peace and quiet BOL but I need to remind her that I am here and need attention. That makes her stop working and play with me till I get bored with that. My favorite thing is making head bumps against Moms’ legs for attention also and I have tripped her once or twice but thank goodness she did not have her coffee mug in her hand although kadoof she fell on the carpet and phew did not hurt herself. I have an old Mom, and I forget and think that everything I do is funny not thinking of the consequences.
So how Mom is trying to deal with my indoor boredom and need any ideas that you have. I love my Kong which Mom stuffs with carrots which keeps me busy, I have killed most of the squeakers in my toys and Mom refused to buy anymore, the toy pile is growing BOL, I love my YOMP ball which you can fill with yoghurt, or any other spreadable food which cleans my teeth at the same time (You can see them on my affiliate page plus you have a coupon there.

Another thing which is the best of the best is bones which I love. Mom goes to the butcher and buys beef neck bones 2 inch thick, half boils them to get the blood out so the house stays clean, cools it off and yummm I can chew for hours on them. My favorite morning ritual now is to grab my bone towel and walk around the house with it in my house hinting to Mom that it is bone time. She is miserly BOL and only gives me one a day. They also keep my teeth pearly white so there is a method to her madness.
I am going for walks, wearing my raincoat, I do not like the rain but potty breaks with exercise is very important and Mom does not give in to me when I sit and refuse to walk, she wins on this one as she knows I am desperate to potty so will walk and do it once we get going. I do not like pee pads and have chewed them to pieces so it is not worth putting them on the floor. Plus walking for Mom is really good also so off we go.

So that is what is happening in the Nili Neighborhood, trying to keep busy, napping more and of course snuggling under the covers at nights.

Great ideas to keep Nili on cold rainy days. It looks like another cold rainy day. Henry approves of the bones idea. Those two are cut from the same cloth. Stay warm and healthy as winter arrives early (judging by the snow in the mountains). Henry says Nili needs a cookie.
Terri thank you, it is a challenge and am looking for any new ideas to keep her busy and burn off energy. The bones she loves but am watching her weight also so do not want to over do it LOL. We have no snow but the rain is like swimming outside each time it does but at least she is tolerating it. Nili woofs cookie for Henry
Keeping dogs entertained on rainy days is definitely a challenge, so go easy on your Mom!! Oh no Nili, she fell? I hope she’s okay because if she gets hurt you’ll be stuck indoors when it’s not raining. I’m glad you’re enjoying your bone, I used to buy raw bones for Jack sometimes and he loved them too!!
Hindy it is such a challenge and I am trying to find solutions and watch her weight at the same time. As for me falling all she did was wag her tail LOL but thank goodness I am fine and that is all that counts. I love the bones for her but worry about her weight although this week am going to stock up on more. I am so happy Jack loved them also he was such a sweetie. Take care
Rain interrupts so many things, I wish all the rain came quietly and at night so we could do “all the things” during the day.
Your mom has some great ideas to keep you busy, I know there are cat toy puzzles to put treats under, I wonder if they make such a thing for dogs.

Aww…Miss Nili, I love the raincoat. Our one Husky, Chloe, she had very short fur and after her surgery to fix both of her legs (shredded CCLs) at the same time, her fur stay really short so we bought her a hot pink coat almost like yours, Nili! And she wore that out in the snow and rain. It took her a few years, but her coat came back thick and we didn’t need it anymore, but she looked so cute in it, just like you Nili!
As for keeping Nili busy, have you tried treat puzzles? My huskies loved those, although they did figure it all out a lot faster than I hoped! The frozen filled Kong (with peanut butter) seemed to work best for us.

Dorothy thanks for your compliment and I love pink on her, it is such a contrast to her black fur. I am sure Chloe looked adorable in her hot pink jacket plus was comfy and warm which is so important. I am looking into puzzles at the moment for her but she is so smart she will figure them out quickly and Kongs we have in the house which she adores with salmon inside. Oh no! Tell your mom I feel her pain- between rain, snow, and sickness, it’s all I can do to keep my pups from destroying things because they are so hyper from lack of exercise. Food puzzles help, but they need a good run soon!!
