Life is slowly changing

Spread the love

TGIF!!! Spring is here and the weather is warming up slowly which means us being outside more.

I am really looking forward to getting out of the house more now that we can although I am still wearing my mask, events are starting to pop up and life is slowly getting back to normal.

This Saturday I am going to the Ballet, something I have not done in so long and really looking forward to getting out of sweatpants and putting some normal clothes on, what a concept, Yes I will be wearing a mask but it is really exciting.

This month also Dog Fest is happening, one of my favorite Dog Events which is exciting although Layla does not enjoy events anymore but thank goodness for the backpack which she loves we will be going.

I took Layla to the Shi Tzu meet up last week and she did not enjoy herself unfortunately, she was ready to go home the minute we got there and in the past she always walked around all the fluffs but this time she tried running out of the park so I put her in her back pack and she relaxed and was happy, so was I relaxed and did not have to worry about her.

We had brunch with a friend last weekend also which was great and of course Layla was begging for something LOL.

Update on her health, her vet emailed me the lab results today which I am trying to decipher but am relieved 95% is good, her heart is good for her age.  I emailed the vet with some questions which hopefully will get her answer within the next few days. Layla also went to the Eye Doctor and her left eye does not have an infection but because of her cataract her eye is not making tears so its dry and therefore the redness in her eye. The vet will not operate at her age but has put her on new drops which seems to be helping, phew.

So that is what is happening in the senior Layla Neighborhood, we both aging gracefully.

Have a great week and be safe

Layla

  1. You give us all lots of news about you and then you tell me not to trust anything. You made me laugh out loud.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Feline Friday and weekend. ♥

  2. I, for one, am so glad that life seems to be slowly returning to normal. It’s nice to finally be able to get out of the house more, even with masks. I’m glad you got new meds for Layla’s eye, and that they seem to be helping! Have an awesome weekend.

    • Thanks Michelle and I am so enjoying going out, carefully with a mask but it is so needed. I am also relieved the eye drops are working, phew

  3. We’re really glad Spring has sprung too. That’s good new on the blood work and I’m glad the new eye drops seem to be helping. Thanks for joining our Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

    • Brian thanks for the blog hop and kike you we are so happy Spring has arrived. I am also relieved the eye drops seem to be helping, her eye is less red

  4. I’m glad to hear that you are able to get out a little more! A ballet sounds like a ton of fun. I’m sorry to hear that Layla didn’t have more fun at her meet up with the other pups. It sounds like you two made a good day of it anyway. Layla is gorgeous and I hope that the eye drops continue to help.

    • Robin the ballet was amazing and so worth going to. I needed something for me. I always try make fun for her when out as it is important for both of us and happy dog
is happy Mom. Phew to the eye drops is all I can say

  5. I’m happy the weather is getting warmer here too on the East Coast. I hope all is well with the lab work. Enjoy the ballet this weekend and take a moment to relax when you can.

    • Kamira warm weather warms our hearts also, I loved the ballet it was so great to do something for myself, what a concept. I have relaxed this weekend as I needed it

  6. I think that our pups are struggling with the idea of integrating back into society in the same way that many of us are. I know our boy Indy has been barking a lot more as of late when he sees people than he did before, but he didn’t really see many people over the last 2 years with all the lockdowns and everything.

  7. I’m glad you and Miss Layla are getting out and about more. I’m also thrilled to hear that Layla’s test results are mostly good. I know those tests can be difficult to understand. Thank goodness your vet is willing to decipher it for you. Here’s to another warm and wonderful week for you and adorable Miss Layla.

    • Thanks Teri and I am so fortunate that I have a vet that explains things in easy English for me LOL. I am planning to get out more as the weather warms up
as I need the fresh air also. Have a wonderful week from us

  8. I hope you had a wonderful time at the ballet! We are still wearing our masks even though the mandate has been lifted. It doesn’t make sense to take unnecessary chances, especially since my husband is immunocompromised.

I hope both of you enjoy Dog Fest later this month!

    • Beth thanks and I loved the ballet, it was just what the doctor ordered to be out with people, masked and enjoy a concert. I am so looking forward to the
dog events this year and cannot wait for Dog Fest. Stay safe

  9. I am so glad you are doing better with your health. 95% sounds epic good to me. I hope Mom enjoys the ballet, that along with opera and orchestral concerts are my favourites. You need to check out Friendly the cat on facebook, she has a weekly classical concert hour, lots of pretty small pieces!

  10. We have Spring here only by the calendar–most of the ground is still covered in a white mess that used to be snow. My dog cannot wait to have proper ground back to peruse.

  11. Oh, aren’t the sweet (okay, maybe some not-so-sweet!) smells of Spring the best? You know longer nicer warmer days are coming and that means more time outside! I will certainly miss my Wolfie this spring…it will be a very different welcoming of Spring for me. Thankfully, there are a lot of pups here where we live so I can enjoy spoiling them! Enjoy your spring walkies, Layla!

    • Awww I understand you when it comes to missing Wolfie and I miss him in your blog posts but as you said you will be spoiling other pups so they will be lucky and
blessed to have an Aunt like you. We are enjoying our walks now and Layla is even trying to chase the pigeons although she is on leash LOL
