What a week

Spread the love

Good morning, friends, we hope you have had a good week as mine has been a busy crazy one and phew thank goodness it is weekend time.

I have been very naughty eating the mud in the park which made me sick, Mom took the hood off my head as the dogs did not want to play with me when I wore it so I went crazy being hoodless and ate some mud, which is not good as it is full of fish fertilizer and it upset my tummy big time, yes I paid the price of being naughty and Mom did not sleep for at least 4 nights. She was giving me probiotics, bland food, no treats but nothing was working so on Thursday she took me to the vet for a check up as she felt she was losing. I was eating and drinking but nothing was staying in my tummy and as she said to the vet I suppose it is a good way for me to lose the weight that I have to lose BOL. The vet laughed with her and told her I had not lost anything.

So after a thorough check up including tests which came back negative the vet sat down with Mom and suggested a vet kibble, now you all know how anti kibble Mom is but this time can you believe it she agreed and am munching on them plus she is giving them to me as treats but not getting more than the vet told Mom to feed me, she is on a strict regime with me.  The vet and Mom think I am allergic to rice and chicken and that is why my tummy was not settling so we are taking each day as it comes but I must admit today for the first time in a week I am feeling a lot better.

Today, Friday was one year since I arrived home from my foster family, but we could not celebrate cos of my tummy issues and Mom explained to me that is the price I am paying for eating the mud, she has promised me a cookie when I am healthy.

So this week has been a crazy week with my upset tummy and we have not done much, we are recharging our batteries this weekend as it is miserable outside and drizzling, next week we will take each day as it comes slowly cos Mom says she is getting old BOL.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone, be safe and stay cool,

With hugs and love from Nili

  1. Oh, Nili! You silly girl! Mud isn’t yummy! Your mom has the yummy treats and food. I’m glad you are okay and the vet and your mom discovered that you are allergic to chicken. No more eating mud silly pup! Be kind to your mom so she doesn’t worry. I’m so glad your mom found you, your could stay a bit in your foster home, and you’ve adjusted so well to your new home. Henry would normally say, “Time to share a treat” but I think today, maybe it should be “Time for a Nili pet.” Mind your mama this week, Nili so that it’s easier on both of you. Wishing you a year filled with fun adventures and loving pets.

    • Terri I am so tired here but recharging today. She needs to stop eating the mud and you can sit in the park and hear all the dog parents screaming stop with the mud, it is like an addiction for all of them, so I have put the bonnet back on her face, too bad, tough love but that way she can run and play and cannot eat LOL.
She really has adjusted well and living the life of a princess like Henry living the life of a Prince, he deserves lots of cookies today, Nilis portion also, big hugs and have a wonderful week, be safe

  2. Dang, I thought for sure I left a comment, it’s tough being old LOL! Hey Nili, don’t be eating stuff that you shouldn’t sweet one, it not fun having a sick tummy. I hope you are feeling all better super soon. Thanks for joining Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!

    • Marjorie thanks, the amount of dogs doing it at the moment is just ridiculous but at least she is on the mend and now wearing her bonnet to prevent her doing it.

  3. My oldest dog likes to eat dirt especially when its wet- but he’s allergic so ends up being super itchy and needing meds. Luckily no upset tummy! Sleepless nights are rough on everyone 🙁

    • Tiffany the mud is a no no and I am sorry he is allergic to it, the itchiness must drive him crazy poor boy. THe sleepless nights takes its toll on all of us and I need to catch up which I am doing now she is on the mend. Have a safe wonderful week.

  4. Oh, sweet Nili, hope you are feeling much better! Your tongue-out pic says it all. Tummy troubles are no fun at all.

    • Dorothy thank goodness she is back to normal and tummy problems are not fun but she needs to learn not to eat the mud in the park and then it wont happen. Thanks and can you believe she has been with me for one year wow
