Spring is in the Air

Spread the love

TGIF !!!!!  Woof Happy Friday all my fur friends and I hope you are all looking forward to the weekend the way we are.

We have had a busy week but also celebrating that the sun is shining and with the Daylight Savings we are now able to get to the park when I finish work. WOW what a concept, to feel the warm sun on your face after all the cold rainy weather. Not sure how long it will last but we are enjoying it immensely.

On Tuesday I took Layla for her annual check up. Growing old means being more careful, keeping double eyes on all and in a nutshell making sure she is getting all the correct nutrients in her food which I as a Jewish Mother is always worried about. They had done blood work on her a month ago as she had lost 1.5 lbs and I was really concerned BUT the happy news is she is back to her normal 15 lbs and nothing to worry about, she got a clean bill of health. I am so relieved over this as I know now I must be doing something right.

I spoke to the vet about her not wanting to go out after 7 in the evening and the vet told me not to worry, because of her one eye going blind she might be afraid of the dark so just to let her do what she wants and if she needs to go out she will tell me, which is what she normally does.

Now as you all know I cook for Layla, and one of my biggest worries is that her food is not properly balanced so I am always doing research, checking and have come across the most amazing supplements which even my vet said she can see the difference in her since I have been giving them. Plus they are made in the USA which is the most important of all.

What are they :

01. Raw Paws Hip and Joint Support for Dogs and Cats : Organic hip and joint supplement is beneficial for all pet life stages from puppies and kittens up to seniors! This joint supplement is a healthy blend of green lipped mussel powder, ginger, turmeric curcumin, pumpkin and ceylon cinnamon. Giving this daily supplement offers natural arthritis relief without the nasty side effects from pet arthritis medicine!

02.  Raw Paws Mineral Rich Organic Sea Kelp Daily Supplement for Dogs and Cats : This excellent natural source of iodine supports glandular functioning such as thyroid health and metabolism. With an improved metabolism, the overall health of your pets will improve by an increase in energy and decrease in inflammation and infection. Sea Kelp promotes oral health by reducing buildup of plaque and tartar for healthy teeth. Being the #1 source of natural trace minerals, sea kelp helps to strengthen the immune system, promotes a healthy skin and coat, reduces itching and fortifies the blood for an overall healthy, vibrant life! Sea Kelp also has 60 different vitamins, minerals, and trace elements as well as 21 amino acids. Made with zero artificial ingredients.

And I think the most important for our pampered pets are the TREATS which Layla is addicted to now. They sent me :

01. Chicken Jerky for dogs only  02. Freeze Dried Green Tripe which is for both Dogs and Cats 03. Freeze Dried Duck which is for both Dogs and Cats .

Layla is at this moment in Treat Heaven, every time she hears a bag she thinks its treats.

    • Katie that is awesome to hear and we hope you are entering the give away plus you can use the coupon on our blog to do some shopping ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. It’s so nice to see Layla relaxing in the sunshine, I know you’ve had quite a bit of rain that has kept you both indoors more than you’d like. The supplements sound amazing, and I love the natural ingredients. I’ve been wondering what I should start giving Jack. I don’t know how old he is, maybe around 6. His wet food is high quality and I add raw so I’m really pleased with that. I wanted to start him on supplements slowly so he’s been getting a glucosamine/chondroitin combo. I do love the sound of what you’re giving I’ll have to see if it’s available here, or buy it on my next trip to that part of the world!

    • Hindy like you being a Jewish Mom LOL we only want what is best and these are really good supplements and worth looking into

  2. I’m happy to hear Layla is doing well and back to her normal weight – it does get worrisome as they age. I’m also glad to see that Spring is in the air so we can’t get back out and enjoy the fresh air.

  3. at the moment my girls’ favorite treat is mom’s freeze dried apples treats, but Bare. i have never seen them get so excited abt treats before. thank goodness, when they were on sale i brought 24 bags, because they will eat a bag a day, which is on 3 oz. but mom never gets any.

    • LOL and am happy they are happy with their Mom’s treats. I love these freeze dried and jerky ones for Layla, she is in doggy heaven when she hears the bags. Good luck

  4. We are finally go to have some sun this weekend. The dogs and I are so tired of rain and mud. Thank you for taking good care of your older doggo and not dumping her in the shelter. I cannot understand people that do not support their canine family members.

    • I so agree with you Daniel it is something I cannot understand either and like you we are tired of the rain and mud. Good luck with the giveaway

  5. OUR BABIES HAVE NEVER HAD RAW TREATS!
WE’RE ALWAYS LOOKING FOR A NEW HEALTHY TREAT FOR THEM TO ENJOY WHILE WE WATCH TV!
    THANK U FOR THE INVITE

  6. I vary treats for my dogs. They get cooked chicken from time to time. Nudges Chicken strips and a treat with glucosamene once a day.

  7. Love the Raw Paws product lines – particularly the kelp and the green tripe! Layla is such a blessed baby – and I’m so glad that her lab values came back good, and her weight came up. What a good mom!

  8. Thanks for the giveaway. Tasty, high quality treats don’t last too long in our house! I know what you mean about being afraid homemade foods arn’t balanced and always doing research. I feed my boys homemade raw and I feel like I do so much research that I know more about how to feed dogs a balanced diet than I do humans!

  9. All my pets, both cat and dog, cannot get enough of freeze dried meat treats! And I feel so good giving them these treats because I know it’s good for them too!

    • I agree with you and Layla loves them. Am so happy to be doing a give away for both cats and dogs this time ๐Ÿ™‚

  10. We are getting some warm weather here as well and the dogs couldn’t be happier ๐Ÿ™‚ Enjoy the weekend you two <3 My dogs favorite treats are jerky and freeze dried treats.

    • Shelley we have enjoyed the weekend and hope you did too as it is enough with winter. Awesome and hope you entered to win these yummy ones – Good luck

  11. While we still have some snow, we are also enjoying some sunshine. I”m glad that Layla is doing so well. It is always good to hear the vet say our dogs are healthy.

    • Beth so true as I always worry when I take her, I am so happy the sunshine has arrived although they talking rain again LOL

  12. I have three rescued Treeing Walker Coonhounds. The boys, Kenji and Seiji (who is a mix) prefer meaty treats – especially soft ones. My girl, Megumi, eats just about anything – she loves treats with fruits and veggies (she just finished off a dried sweet potato treat the boys don’t really care about). Of course, any treat the boys don’t eat gets cleaned up by Megumi! I get these chicken meatball treats for my dogs that they absolutely love (and they come in a huge container for there are plenty to go around).

  13. This year, we really cannot wait for the snowy, icy mess to go away. It is so treacherous out there, particularly with the fluctuating temperatures. There are still two feet of crusty snow everywhere.

  14. This sounds amazing. I will share for you on FB because I love the idea of making raw food approachable for people. Raw food has SO much information online and it is all variations that confuse dog owners.

Good luck and we will share and SHARE for you!!

    • Thank you Dash Kitten Crew with a woof from Layla. I agree this raw food story is very confusing but once figured out it is easy LOL

  15. I will try and find these in the UK and see what they are like. The muscle and joint one sounds most beneficial to me.
Glad you all got some nice weather over there. Seems like ages since you reported fun days out in the sun, MOL
    Have a great week,
    Purrs
    ERin

    • Erin they are awesome and you should check if they ship overseas so you can get them. LOL I know what a concept sun and park MOL

  16. We’ll done on another great checkup, Layla! Mom is definitely taking good care of you. I live that I can take my boys out, when I get home from work. Living on a farm, it’s scary to go out when it starts to get dark.

    • Sadie I can understand that, but I would love to live in a place with a yard at least for her. And yes am doing my best to keep her healthy, thanks for the compliment.

    • Holly I have seen such an amazing change in Layla since giving her the supplements, highly recommended. And I was hesitant about the tripe also but having read how good it is for them I tried and she is now nuts over them LOL, as for Jerky well that is crack. Good luck with entering the give away ๐Ÿ™‚

  17. I’m so glad the sun is finally peeking down on you guys! You can head back to the park and visit all your friends, I’m sure they’ve missed the sunshine as much as you have. Great giveaway, I tweeted it.
    Love & Biscuits,
Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them

    • Hi Hi and yes happiness is sunshine and park. Good luck with entering the giveaway, the treats are awesome and thanks for the tweet also. Love from us

  18. Oh Layla, so happy your vet report was a good one! It’s so true, with all my Huskies now in their golden years, with our alpha queen having just turned 14, their care is so important. You are a lucky pup to have such a wonderful mom! Enjoy your treats and the great vet report! And what a nice giveaway, thanks for hosting!

    • Thanks and You are an amazing Mom to your Huskies too Dorothy, I have learned a lot from you. Good Luck with entering the giveaway

  19. My Sweet Pea loves freeze dried treats and is particularly fond of chicken flavors…..these sound like great treats to try!!
