Friday has arrived and that means weekend, woof. We hope you have a great one.
National Pet Month is observed in May. National Pet Month is a celebration of the benefits that pets bring to people’s lives – and vice versa. It is celebrated here in the USA in May and in the UK in April.
What are the benefits of having a pet, there are endless benefits but I think the most important ones are as follows:
- They keep us fit
- They make sure you’re never lonely especially through hard times and what we have been through the past year
- They lower our stress levels – I try to stay as less stressed as possible so Layla does not stress out
- They can help you make friends, so true as by walking your dog, going to dog parks you are meeting people
- They can improve your immune system – yes they do as keep us healthy in so many ways.
- They can stop your children from developing allergies which is so important plus they teach children compassion and responsibility.
- They keep you safe
- They can provide companionship to children with learning difficulties
- Pets make us happier
- Pets help us cope with crisis
I have realized this so much from when I was in the Domestic Violence Relationship how much Baby helped me and I was blessed to have her.
Layla has done the same for me especially the past year – without her I am not sure where I would be. Seeing her waggy tail when I come home from an errand makes my day every day.
As I am typing this I am realizing how blessed I am to have Layla in my life, we are both aging together but loving each day, she makes me laugh, gets me out of the house, and her cuddles in the morning is something money cannot buy.
So our question is what does your pet do for you on a daily basis?
Happy National Pet Month Everyone,
With a woof and love from Layla and Me
I love my pets! They give me something to smile about every day!
I so agree with you Tiffany, life would be lonely without them
I love this! Our pets bring so many incredible benefits to our lives, don’t they? I know that I would have had a much more difficult time getting through this whole pandemic/lockdown period without the pets by my side. Being able to snuggle up with them anytime that I needed to take a ‘me moment’ made my stress just melt away. Plus, they have a knack for making us laugh, don’t they?
They are the best in the world in so so many ways and we are blessed to have them
Love this! My Huskies have always brought me such joy, love, and laughter. I’ve suffered a lot of loss over the past handful of years and they helped so much. When they became part of the loss…the remaining ones cheered me. With one left, each day is a gift and we spend hours together just chilling in the yard or on my back porch. He is a senior now at 13.5, but he still seems like a pup to me! We, too, are aging together and watching him now with my grandkids is such a joy. And the hellos upon returning home (even if I was only outside for a minute! Oh how I love that greeting)! Their unconditional love is such a gift. Give Miss Layla a hug from Wolfie and I! Pinning your post to share!
Dorothy your huskies are amazing, I have been blessed to follow them for years now and love their antics and fun, they always bring a smile to my face. Wolfie is amazing how he keeps you going and aging with you, he is a very special boy and how wonderful your grandkids are enjoying his company and learning from him. Layla sends you and Wolfie a hug back
Every day is a pet day in our house. Though I grew to somewhat dislike the word “pet”. So every day is a dog day here.
Awww I love all animals so for me they are pets although I have a dog and every days is pet day here
I can’t imagine life without my cats they make everything worthwhile. Have a good week you two!!
Thanks Marjorie and I agree with you life would be miserable without them
I didn’t know it was Nat’l Pet Month until you told me. What a great opportunity to reflect on all the many benefits our pets give us. Thanks for shining a light on that.
Love & Biscuits,
Dogs Luv Us and We Luv Them
Cathy our pleasure and it is such an important month as it reminds us how important they are to us
Happy Pet Month to you, too. I know I couldn’t have survived the last couple of years without Truffle and Brulee. They are there for both my physical and emotional health.
They are adorable and you are truly blessed Paula
