Thanksgiving is around the corner

Spread the love

The weekend has arrived, Thanksgiving and Hanukkah around the corner plus with no rain in the forecast we are trying to get adventures in before the rain arrives.

So last week we went to the Embarcadero to look at the Bay, breathe some sea air and just be outdoors. It was chilly but sunny and a perfect day to be outdoors.

Madam was happy running around, watching the seagulls and Pidgeon’s and of course eating some treats because how could I let her starve. I had taken a coffee with me and it was just perfect, relaxing and just what the Doctor ordered.

As we all know, Thanksgiving is around the corner, shops are full, everyone stocking up with food, sales are starting and the city is slowly going crazy. I have no plans for Thanksgiving this year, lying low which I love to do and just relax. I will make Madam some turkey for definite with veggies, so she does not feel left out.

Thanksgiving treats for Layla

Thanksgiving pet safety :
  1. Keep the food on the table
  2. No pie or other desserts for your dog
  3. Yeast dough can cause problems for pets, including painful gas and potentially dangerous bloating.
  4. Put the trash away so your dogs cannot find it
  5. Be careful with decorative plants.
  6. Quick action can save lives.

So on this note Layla and I want to thank everyone for helping her stay healthy, Dr Harvey’s, Vetercyn, Her vet Dr Gervais, Vet Vision Clinic and so many more who have spent the last year with us, BUT Layla would like to say a special thank you to everyone reading our blog, following us on social media.

BUT before we forget please please if you are shopping on Black Friday put on your list food, treats or toys for the pets that are in the shelters so that they can be spoiled also, thank you

Have a fun family Thanksgiving with lots of laughter,

With love from Layla

  1. We don’t have Thanksgiving here in New Zealand but, like you, we have a lot of good things we are grateful for, especially our Sienna who had a major dental that cost us a lot but she is worth it. It is definitely a good time to stop and be grateful for so many things.

Having a good vet is something we can ALL be thankful for to Layla, so enjoy your Thanksgiving and your tasty food!

    • Marjorie I never celebrated Thanksgiving till I came to the USA and I count my blessings for what I have, Layla being healthy and that is what is important. The material things
are not that important. I hope Sienna has recovered and feeling a lot better.

  2. I need to visit the city soon too. We’re not that far away. I will say that today the sun is finally out. It’s been gloomy here for two weeks.

Yes on the safety tips for our babies.

Have a fabulous day and weekend. ♥

    • Thanks Sandee and email me when you come to the city so we can meet up for a coffee. The sun is shining here too phew so am going to go down to the Bay tomorrow also.
Be safe and have a great week

  4. I’ve been so busy I didn’t really notice the upcoming holiday season. It is essential to keep dogs safe during the festivities. We always share turkey breast with our dogs but keep them from anything that could harm them.

  5. Happy Thanksgiving to you and Mum Layla. Thanks for sharing these important safety tips as well as reminding us all to have gratitude and think of others that are not as fortunate this time of year in shelters. Be safe and enjoy relaxing for the upcoming holiday.

  6. We always love reading about Layla’s adventures. Thank you for reminding people to put items for shelters in their shopping carts on Black Friday. So many shelters are struggling since the pandemic hit. Happy Thanksgiving to both of you!

  7. Great tips! I think a lot of pet parents focus heavily on keeping the food on the table up and out of reach and completely forget about the garbage, so I’m glad to see that you included that on your list!

  8. That sounds like a fabulous relaxing day lounging by the bay for you & Layla! Good tips for Thanksgiving safety, it’s easy to forget to keep the pups safe with all the holiday excitement.
