Woof to all my friends,
Did you know that Valentines might be over but today, Thursday February 20th is National Love Your Pet Day?
This is a very special day as it makes us humans realize how much we love our pets and how fortunate we are to have them in our lives. Something I would not change ever. I am aware that we spoil our pets daily, but I love the idea of one day a year is dedicated to them.
Did you know that most households in the United States have at least one pet? There are more cats than dogs in the U.S., most households have dogs not cats, but the difference is not that much. Pets are not only canine and feline, there are quite a few who prefer birds, reptiles, fish, or rats.
Whatever pet it is they all deserve to be extra spoiled on this day.
Below are some ideas of what we can do, and we cannot wait to hear from you what you did. I spoiled Nili by taking her to the park for some fun, baked her some yum treats and gave her more attention than she normally gets, she was one happy girl.

So, all my fur friends I hope you had a Happy National Love Your Pet Day with lots of treats, fun with your humans and please make lots of memories.
With a woof and love from Nili and my sister in heaven, Angel Layla
Thank you for sharing this! My pups were pretty clear about what they wanted as far as appreciation this evening. They wanted WALKIES!! Apparently there was some incredibly wonderful scent that had to be tracked all over the neighborhood. We must have looked pretty silly, zig zagging, back tracking, only to turn around and go a different way, but it was Very Important to the dogs they get to the bottom of that smell.
It stopped at a tree and they were satisfied and went home. Us humans still have no idea what they found, but it was apparently awesome.
Andrea when their nose starts going we have to follow, I love it and so happy they zig zagged and smelled till it ended at the tree, they keep us amused at the same time.
Our gang enjoyed their special day and that’s exactly how it should be. We do celebrate with them every single day. Thanks for joining Angel Brian’s Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
Terry I so agree it is every day but for us an excuse to spoil them more, you are an amazing Dad to your cats. Thank you as always for Thankful Thursday Blog Hop and take care
I think National Love Your Pet Day is a great reminder to shower them with love. Henry’s been getting extra loves as he’s been my shadow even more since I’ve had the flu this week. We’ll try a hike when I’m better. He did get a couple of treats. I didn’t hear any complaints. I wish my horses were still here so they could all play together. It sounds like Nili had a pawsome day. Henry says she needs another cookie.
Terri I am so sorry you have been ill and hope you feeling better now. Having a dog shadow is the best and Henry was looking after you which is so cute. Nili had a great day and wants more including cookies but I have to slow down with those she is really becoming a little pig LOL. Big hugs to Henry with lots of cookies
I didn’t know there was even a National Love Your Pet Day! We don’t need that in our house, our lives are pretty much All about the pets LOL!
Cathy we learn all the time and like you my life evolves around Nili so she is not short of anything LOL but hey it is an important day also to remind us of how special they are.
Every pet should be a spoiled pet on this their special day! I know the predictable response is ‘but every day is…’ but we need to remember that this is not the case for everyone and every pet. THIS is why we have a special day.
Marjorie so true and it is a good reminder especially for the busy parents as every pet deserves to be spoiled daily and extra on that day.
Love this post! Love Love Your Pet Day – Every Day! I bet Miss Nili had a wonderful day being spoiled in her lovely new home with you! You are so right, we truly are the fortunate ones who get to share our lives with amazing pets. I miss mine very day. Sending big hugs to sweet Nili! xo
Thank you Dorothy for your kind words, I am sure you miss your beautiful babies they were so blessed to have you as their Mom. We are blessed to have them part of our lives and Nili is living life to its fullest with me, sending you lots of hugs from Nili and Me xxxx
