Its Pride Weekend plus a Give Away

Spread the love

Happy Friday Everyone.

We have cabin fever do you ?

Update on Layla. After three visits which are hard as you cannot go inside with your dog they have come to the conclusion that she has degenerative arthritis in her spine so is now on a third medication. My goal is to keep her comfortable and not in pain so we are working on it and she is sleeping most of the time.
They wanted to put her also on an opioid patch but I said no as it would mean more medication plus it would mean me taking her every second day to get a new one and they are costly – 64 dollars each.  So during the day or at night if I see she is uncomfortable I am giving her Hemp Oil.

The oil I am giving her is from a company called Blossom and is fantastic, she is alert and like her normal self when she gets it which relaxes me a lot. It is grown in Colorado but made in California and what could be better than supporting a local company.
What is good about their oil is it is instrumental in building and repairing tissues plus it has the two primary essential fatty acids — Omega 3 and Omega 6.

Blossom Info: They craft all of their full-spectrum hemp oil using proprietary strains of hemp, thoughtfully grown on our Colorado farms. Each batch is lab-tested on-site to ensure the highest consistency and quality in every bottle.

Pets come in all shapes and sizes, that’s why blossom does too. Their simple and easy to read serving guide takes the stress and guesswork out of administering hemp oil to your furry family member.

Presidio Natural Pet: We love making treats, but its solving problems through better ingredients and recipes is what gets us out of bed in the morning.

This weekend is Pride weekend, 50th anniversary, but because of the lock downs San Francisco cancelled the entire event which I am sad about as I enjoy it every year so decided to share some old photos of Layla at the Dyke March that we have done. plus one of the Bikes on Dykes videos so we can all enjoy and hopefully next year we will be doing it again. Layla has been doing them with me every year since I got her, my mini dyke I call her LOL so we are going to just have to watch different events on TV this year and enjoy Pride that way.

And last but not least one of my favorite photos of Layla from one of the Dyke Marches we did.

So to all our friends out there that celebrate Pride – Happy Pride, have some fun and of course wear a Rainbow which always brings a smile to my face.

Have a wonderful weekend

  1. So sorry to hear that Layla is still not feeling well, but I am glad that you have been able to determine the cause. It’s also good to hear that the hemp oil is helping her.

    Have a wonderful pride weekend!

  2. Oh, I’m so sorry that Layla is not feeling well. And during these pandemic days, I cannot even imagine how difficult it must be to not be with her at the vet. I can’t imagine not being with my two at the vet if they were in pain. I totally understand why vets are keeping pet parents outside, but when your baby is in pain, that must be hard. Sounds like the Blossom Hemp Oil is working well for her and for your peace of mind. Take care, both of you!

  3. I’m so sorry Layla is having this health issue, but I’m delighted the hemp oil is helping her. Hugs & kisses to her & you. Happy Pride weekend!! ❤

  4. I haven’t used hemp oil for my dogs, but I hear great things about it & would love to try it. Great post & giveaway! *Hugs* to Layla

  5. Happy Pride!

I’m so sorry to hear that Layla’s health problems look something more permanent. I’m glad the oil helps her. I hope she continues to improve. It’s so hard when they get older isn’t it?

  6. Happy Pride! I’m so sorry about Layla. I hope she gets feeling better. I highly recommend trying out rose-hip vital. It’s an all natural powder made from rose hips and is on sale very often. We used it for one of our fur babies for a few years for his luxating patellas and milk arthritis, it really helped him alot and reduce pain We unfournantly lost him a month ago at the age of 5 due to sudden pericardial effusion, and the vet didn’t see no sudden improvement quality of life. Rose hip vital works well mixed with a bit of water and peanut butter almost like oatmeal base. Hardest choice we had to make. I hope the best for you all, keep your head up and tails wagging. Sending pets and hugs.

    • Mel thank you so much for your input and I will look into it for definite as anything to keep her comfy and happy is all that counts to me

  7. I’m glad to hear that you’re getting some answers about what’s going on with Layla. Hopefully this is the start of a change for the better as you learn to manage and minimize her pain. I know that my girl is starting to feel some pain in her hips as she gets older and we have had to learn some techniques to manage it while still allowing her to be her high energy, playful self.

  8. so very sorry to hear about Layla’s back. Have you tried the assisi loop. also vetriscience makes a great product, disc, for backs. i used this on Evie, and it really helped her. she also had it which was caused by an accident she had, she got vestibular disease, and was circling in very tight circles, which cause damage to her spine. i know how hard it is when you have pets. i had to have 2 emergency visits, one to my reg vet and to the dental vet which is 180 miles away. both times i had to sit and wait in my car. the trip to the dental vet was really hard because there was nothing open and that was an all day visit. it was a very costly 2 wks, close to 3k. i dont like to use a lot of drugs either, which is why i got to a homeopathic vet. i hope she will be feeling better soon. i know there are some companies that make products to help. i have looked into there as well. if you google handicapped vets, there are a lot of options that maybe could get her some back support. may

    • Sandy thank you so much for your input and will check into it for definite. I am sorry you had to go to the emergency vet and I know it is awful that we have to sit in the car and wait. Take care

  9. HOW MUCH!?!?!? $64 is a kings ransom and even affluent people would baulk at that much every few day. That’s nuts.

I am glad you have the Blossom oil and that it is local. Buying and supporting local in our main goal here (although we are buying books locally on order they take months to get here right now and people are saying it will be 2021 before American gets back on its paws).

I will share the giveaway, it is a great idea!!

    • Thanks so much and I agree with you, 64 dollars is just crazy. I love shopping local and do it as much as I can as they need out business.

  10. I’m so sorry to hear that Layla has been in so much pain. What a difficult diagnosis to receive. It’s good to hear that the hemp oil is working for her. I’ve considered using CBD oil with my Dexter. He isn’t in any pain, but he has anxiety that I’m trying to figure out how to work with.
